Seeing how radiant and empowered her friends and family felt after styling their hair, Renee Donaldson decided from an early age she wanted to become a hair stylist to give that same feeling to her clients. Originally from Trinidad, Renee moved to the United States and earned her cosmetology license from Artistic Hair and Beauty Academy. Since then, Renee has been passionately styling hair and helping her clients feel incredible for over 16 years. Renee is the proud owner of Hair Haven Salon, and she keeps up to date with the latest styles and techniques to give her clients trendy, stylish hair.

Even though she knows how a great silk-out treatment or perfectly placed highlights can make her clients feel radiant, Renee also recognized the importance of having a foundation of healthy hair. Renee decided to create her own line of hair care products to ensure her clients have just that, healthy hair. Drawing inspiration from her Trinidadian roots and using quality ingredients, Renee created Island Gyal Hair Care Products for her clients to receive all the same benefits from her salon at home.
